A Little History
My dad is one of two hunded and fifty engineers worldwide who is a "Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Designers" which is a fantastic achievement, and one I am very proud of. He is my role model and I used to love going into work with him on the occasions he had to go in at the weekends. I always wanted to be an engineer, from a very young age.
I am a time served mechanical technician, having served a mechancial apprenticeship, worked on the shop floor, in the tool room, planning the jobs, problem solving . I then decided to go to University as a mature student, paying my own way through University. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Strathclyde University in Glasgow between 1990 -1993.
After graduating from University I ended up working for the UK defence agency, working on some amazing projects. After four years working for defence, I then progressed to Senior Project Engineer, which is where I started recording my roles with a view to becoming a Chartered Engineer. I attained chartered engineer status in the UK through the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in 2004. I then moved to Australia in 2006 and gained accreditation as a Chartered Engineer in Australia. I am priviledged to say I am recognised as a Chartered Engineer on two continents, putting me in the top 1% of qualified engineers in Australia.
I decided to set up Nunn Consuting & Project Engineering in 2009, but due to the global financial crisis, the business never took off. In 2015 I decided that the current shift in engineering meant I needed to change direction to align with current opportunities.
